Book Club - Every Second Tuesday @ 6pm

Lit Wits is a book club which is open to anyone who loves to read.  The majority of its members are also members of Open Arms UCC, but church membership is not required.  All are welcome to join us to read and discuss.

Our mission as a book club is to read and discuss a variety of well written literature in order to open our minds and hearts to new experiences, new cultures, and new ways of thinking so that we will not only grow in our faith, but so we can truly demonstrate Jesus' commandment to love one another within our community, and the world.

We are a small but close group of 8-10 members who take turns choosing a book to host.

When it’s our turn to host, many will host in their homes and provide a light meal. Others chose to meet at restaurants or at church meeting rooms.

We choose a variety of books both fiction and non fiction, current best sellers and older classics. Through reading and discussing these books, we cover topics such as love, loss, abuse, racial prejudice, caring relationships, different cultures, history,  depression, immigration, and even faith and religion.

We meet the second Tuesday of the month at 6:00.  Hostesses and books for 2023 are as follows:

January 10 - Pam Mayo - THE PERSONAL LIBRARIAN by Marie Benedict
February 7 - Sarah Rinehart - BELOVED by Toni Morrison
